Gary Williams - October 19, 2011

Looking back at the first round, he was very impressed with what Keegan Bradley did on the front nine and he had a big lead early but after a couple of bogeys on the back nine, he ended up tied with Rory McIlroy for the lead with 18 holes to go. McIlroy played very well yesterday while Schwartzel felt that he played better than his score of 74. Clarke struggled to a 77 and despite the impression that he is still celebrating his Open Championship win, he actually was the first to arrive on the property at Port Royal Golf Course and he is really trying to get out of his funk. Clarke brought the Claret Jug with him to Bermuda and Gary even had a sip of Guinness out of it yesterday. He said that it tasted like a combination of every kind of liquid that has ever been inside of it and one word to describe it would be odd. The wind is up this morning for the second round but he thinks that this will ultimately be match play between Rory McIlroy and Keegan Bradley with the other two players being out of the running. After the Champions Dinner last night, he was walking with Rory McIlroy when someone approached them and asked if Gary was Rory’s father.
