Gary Woodland - March 20, 2012

Gary Woodland, who earned his first PGA TOUR win in 2011 at the Transitions Championship, is a member of Team Lake Nona in the 2012 Tavistock Cup. On Monday, David Feherty actually took it easy on him and Graeme McDowell while going after Ian Poulter which was a nice surprise.

His game is coming into good form just before The Masters. He and Butch Harmon have been working hard and he has played well the last two weeks at Doral and Innisbrook and he hopes that he will continue to improve ahead of the year’s first Major. He is seeing results on the range but it is great to finally see results on the golf course in tournament play.

The first thing that Butch Harmon said to him was that he was going to go through the swing changes in order to win Majors. Harmon added that you are remembered for winning Majors and that should be every player’s goal.

His Kansas Jayhawks are doing well in the NCAA Tournament and will be playing North Carolina State on Friday night in the Sweet 16 after a narrow 2nd round win. He is glad that Kansas is playing big schools instead of medium-sized schools which would make him more nervous because there is not as much information on the smaller schools. Finally, he said he was very confident that Lake Nona would defend its Tavistock Cup title today.
