Hudson Swafford - May 8, 2012

Hudson Swafford earned his first career Nationwide Tour win last week in the Stadion Classic at UGA. The former Georgia Bulldog shot a final round 62 at the University of Georgia Golf Course to come from behind on Sunday to win by one. He said that the win is only starting to sink in and it was an unbelievable feeling to be able to win on his home course with so many friends and family members watching.

Starting well off the lead on Sunday, he decided to just focus on getting off to a good start. Of course he bogeyed the first hole before making birdie on the second hole and then moving on from there. While the first hole was not what he wanted, the rest of his round certainly was what he wanted.

After just missing the PGA TOUR in Q-School, it feels great to be playing well on the Nationwide Tour and while he is in a much better position after this win, he has to finish the year in the top 25 and that is his biggest goal. He was hoping to play some PGA TOUR events this year but he has ultimately decided to focus exclusively on the Nationwide Tour with the goal of joining the PGA TOUR in 2013.

Veteran friends like Davis Love III, Brian Bateman, and Lucas Glover have helped to make his experience of living at Sea Island something special. He is a part of Crown Sports Management and everyone with that company has worked so hard to try to make his life more organized and to also make him a more responsible and more organized person.
