Golf Channel Analyst Jerry Foltz is in Evian-les-Bains, France this week for the Evian Masters. On Wednesday he spoke with Stacy Lewis in a segment for “On The Range” and the biggest change in Stacy Lewis over the last year is her newfound comfort on the leaderboard. For a long time, Lewis admitted that she would get nervous when her name was at or near the top of the leaderboard but now she actually enjoys being there and wants to be in contention as often as possible. Lewis is hitting the ball so well this week and her putting is strong as well so it is not surprising that she is near the top of the leaderboard.
Yani Tseng is very hard on herself as she expects excellence every time she tees it up in a tournament. When Yani is smiling and happy, she plays great but the opposite happens when she is down on herself and she has been down on herself lately. He hopes that her new caddie will be successful in getting Yani to relax and let things happen naturally on the course. During his time covering the LPGA Tour, Foltz has never known anyone to be as hard on themselves as Yani is on herself.
Paula Creamer has not won since the 2010 U.S. Open at Oakmont and she played with Stacy Lewis for the first two rounds. Creamer has won the Evian Masters in the past and she is playing well this week but she has shown her frustration from time to time because she knows that she is good enough to win but she is not getting it done.
