Julian Tutt - May 18, 2012

European Tour Analyst Julian Tutt is in Andalucia, Spain for the Volvo World Match Play Championship. When Brandt Snedeker played with a set of borrowed clubs and defeated Thomas Bjorn 5&4, everyone was certainly impressed with the performance although Snedeker was helped by the fact that Bjorn did not play well. Tutt believes that Snedeker was also helped by the fact that he was not playing on his home tour and was playing a course that he had never seen and as a result, he did not know the trouble that was out there on the course.

In match play, you can still win if you putt well but play poorly but the opposite is not true. Sergio was able to win his Thursday match against Alvaro Quiros despite putting poorly but even more than that, Tutt was disappointed in Sergio’s attitude on the course as it was anything but the joyful attitude that many people in Spain have seen from Sergio in the past. Tutt hopes that Garcia can play well and cheer up because a win this week by Sergio would be very popular throughout Spain.

Going into this week, Tutt felt that Branden Grace had a good chance to play well this week. Grace has won three times on the 2012 European Tour including a pair of events sponsored by Volvo. He has shown that he can perform well under pressure and he is hitting the ball so well right now. It would be a huge story if he were to not only perform well but also earn his 4th win of the 2012 season.
