With his win in the BMW Championship, Justin Rose is 3rd on the FedExCup Points List which means that if he wins the TOUR Championship, he will win the FedExCup. It was very important to him to finish the BMW Championship with a flourish especially after having a rough back nine on Sunday and he was able to finish strong with a great tee shot and a great second shot. It is certainly the dream to be able to walk up 18 at East Lake and he is about to win the FedExCup but once Thursday comes around, the dreaming will stop and he will focus on the golf at hand. For a while, he had considered going to an anchored putter and went as far as having one made. He is a bit of a streaky putter and although he had success with it during a practice session, he decided to stay with the conventional putter because he was playing well and he did not want to change anything. He and his wife are expecting a baby girl around Christmas of this year and it is very exciting. His offseason will be very busy professionally as well as he plans to play overseas a number of times before shutting it down just prior to the birth of his daughter. He was not selected for the 2010 European Ryder Cup team and although some people suggested that he was passed over because he was did not play often enough on the European Tour, he does not believe that was the case. He was one of a number of worthy contenders for Captain Colin Montgomerie’s three Captain’s Picks and he simply was not one of the three who did receive picks.
