Michael Jordan - April 10, 2012

Basketball Legend Michael Jordan hosted his Celebrity Invitational tournament in Las Vegas earlier this month and sat down with Win McMurry. The tournament has existed for 11 years but they decided to relocate the event to Las Vegas and Shadow Creek because they wanted to find a place that was easy for big names to get to and plus Shadow Creek wanted to open its course to a celebrity tournament.

Jordan said that it has been a great move to Las Vegas and the Aria Casino. The atmosphere is unbelievable and everyone just seems to have a great time in Las Vegas. He enjoyed playing in the Bahamas for many years and the organizers in the Bahamas did a great job but it is great to have the event in Las Vegas.

While Ahmad Rashad told Win McMurry that he has won his celebrity event nine times, Jordan said that he has only won the event twice and that in many years he plays with a celebrity who has a high handicap like Charles Barkley.

He is very happy for Tiger Woods and thinks that he is finally coming around with his win two weeks ago at Bay Hill. He and Tiger talk to each other often and they text each other pretty during any event that Tiger plays.

The thing he loves the most about the game of golf is that it allows him to get away from people and from the distractions of life. What makes the Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup so exciting is that you are playing for your country. It is not about money or anything else other than pride for your country and he gets excited about it whenever he thinks about the competitions. He is excited about the 2012 Ryder Cup at Medinah in Chicago and he thinks that it will be very close between the U.S. and Europe.

His dream foursome would include Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, and since he plays with Tiger Woods all the time, he would instead make Lee Elder the fourth member of his dream foursome.
