- All Heart
On Friday, Charlie Beljan went to the hospital with heart palpitations, shortness of breath, and high blood pressure. This morning, he's a first-time winner on the PGA TOUR and has a 2-year exemption after a 2-shot victory in the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Classic.
- Rory's Riches
Rory McIlroy's 3rd place finish in The Barclays Singapore Open gave him enough money to win the European Tour's Race to Dubai. McIlroy also won the PGA TOUR money list to become the 2nd player in history to official win both titles while holding membership on both tours.
- U.S. Success
For the first time since 1994 U.S. fans can cheer its own as LPGA Tour Rolex Player of the Year. Stacy Lewis' 4th place finish in the Lorena Ochoa Invitational gave her enough points to clinch the race. Lewis has 4 wins on tour this year.
- Plans for 2013
Charlie Beljan isn't the only player who locked up a PGA TOUR card for 2013. Tim Herron's tie for 9th moved him up 12 spots to number 124 while Kevin Chappell dropped two spots to clinch number 125. Also, Nicolas Colsaerts earned enough cash during his special temporary membership to earn his card.
