- Rory's World
Rory McIlroy closed with 5 straight birdies on Sunday to win the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai and run away with the Race to Dubai on the European Tour. McIlroy's winning score of -23 equaled the tournament record and gave him his 5th worldwide victory this season.
- Rosey Finish
Justin Rose shot a 10-under-par 62 on Sunday which bettered the course record by 2 shots. Rose finished alone in second place which marked his 13th top 10 finish worldwide which is good enough to finish 2nd on the money list and move to 4th in the Official World Golf Ranking. 
- Final Series
The European Tour unveiled a new 'Final Series' with hopes of making the yearlong Race to Dubai relevant heading into the season-ending event. Beginning in 2013, the Final Series before the DP World Tour Championship will consist of 3 events: the BMW Masters, WGC-HSBC Champions, and the Turkish Open.
