Jeev Milkha Singh did not think he was going to win the Scottish Open because he finished 90 minutes before the final group finished the 18th hole. He was sitting in the clubhouse waiting to see what would happened and he ended up winning in a playoff. Players loved Castle Stuart and the reputation of Gil Hanse just continues to grow. Scottish Open officials have yet to decide where the 2013 event will be but Sirak is confident that the tournament will return to Castle Stuart at some point.

Roger Chapman, who entered 2012 as a relatively unheralded player, is anything but now because of his win in the U.S. Senior Open. When you consider the fact that Chapman equaled the feat of Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, and Hale Irwin in winning the Senior PGA Championship and U.S. Senior Open in the same year, it is absolutely remarkable to see what Chapman has accomplished.

T.J. Vogel won the U.S. Amateur Public Links 12&10 which is the second largest margin of victory in Championship history. Vogel was 10UP after the first 18 holes and there was nothing his opponent could do because simply put, Kevin Aylwin had run into an unbeatable opponent in that Final Match. Vogel is now being rewarded with a likely invitation to the 2013 Masters.

Royal Lytham & St. Annes has a very impressive list of Champions but he would put Seve Ballesteros at the top of the list of notable Champions because he won The Open Championship at Royal Lytham in both 1979 and 1988. Lytham is a course that is a classic among classic Open Championship venues in large part because the course has bunkering that can stand up to tests of time and technological advancement.
