Scott Stallings earned his second career PGA TOUR win on Sunday in the True South Classic to go with his win in the 2011 Greenbrier Classic. He has always believed that the first time you win on the PGA TOUR is a dream come true and the second win in a bonus. However, this win even more special because of the fact that he has struggled with injuries as well as on-course play in the weeks prior to the win last week.
His entire life changed when he made that putt to win The Greenbrier Classic in a playoff in 2011. He had a job for two years and had earned an invitation to the 2012 Masters so he had a whole new idea of what his goals would be. Unfortunately he had to set some of those goals aside due to his injury but he hopes that he resume his pursuit of new goals now that he has won a second time.
He tore some cartilage at the bottom of his ribcage at the Humana Challenge back in January and he tried to play through the injury with the goal of preparing for The Masters. The pain became too much when he had to withdraw from the Northern Trust Open and he had to take some time off although he played The Masters entirely on pain medicine. He knew that he would struggle in the events after The Masters because he probably should not have played considering his condition.
