TODAY'S TOPICS
- Guess Who's Back
Tiger Woods picked up his 72nd career PGA TOUR win on Sunday with his victory in the Arnold Palmer Invitational by 5 shots over Graeme McDowell. The victory is the largest on the PGA TOUR since Rory McIlroy’s 8 shot U.S. Open victory last summer. Tiger goes to 6th in the Official World Golf Ranking and moves just one victory behind Jack Nicklaus for 2nd most wins on the PGA TOUR.
- Lucky #7
Fred Couples made an 8 foot birdie putt on the 18th hole to earn his 7th career Champions Tour win on Sunday. His 14 under total was one shot better than Michael Allen. Couples is scheduled to rejoin the PGA TOUR at this week's Shell Houston Open before his annual trip to Augusta National.
- LPGA Dominance
World # 1 Yani Tseng picked up her 2nd consecutive LPGA victory and her 3rd in 5 weeks this weekend at the Kia Classic and she did it in dominant fashion winning by 6 shots. At just over 23 years old, Tseng becomes the second youngest in LPGA history to reach 15 victories behind only the great Nancy Lopez.
- A Scare for Arnie
Sunday night following the conclusion of the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Mr. Palmer was taken to the hospital with reports of high blood pressure. He is okay and was resting comfortably in the hospital last night. We will keep you up to date on anything we hear and we certainly wish him the best.
