- Jordan Bounced
The world's third ranked amateur Jordan Spieth was knocked out in the Round of 64 on Wednesday at the U.S. Amateur. Spieth faced off against 2012 NCAA Champion Thomas Pieters-a 16 seed- who opened with an eagle and never trailed en route to a 1UP victory.
- Casey at the Bat
University of Oregon Men's Golf Coach Casey Martin has accepted a sponsor’s exemption into the PGA TOUR's Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. It will be his second event of 2012 after qualifying for this year’s U.S. Open at The Olympic Club.
- Road to Medinah
Thomas Bjorn, Darren Clarke, & Paul McGinley have been named Assistant Captains for the European Ryder Cup Team that will be led by Jose Maria Olazabal at Medinah in September. Olazabal will name the 4th Assistant Captain and his 2 captain's picks on August 27th at Gleneagles. You will be able watch that announcement live on Morning Drive.
