Rosaforte was at the Constellation Senior Players Championship last week where Joe Daley earned his first Champions Tour win. This is certainly not as big as when John Daly seemingly came out of nowhere to win the 1991 PGA Championship, but this is an inspiring story nonetheless. Years ago, he left his job as a credit manager to become a professional golfer and spent many years playing virtually every mini-tour in the world. He has had to Monday qualify to get into every event on the Champions Tour this year. He made it into the Senior PGA Championship this year because of his position on the Money List and he took advantage by finishing T4. He qualified for the Senior Players for the same reason and took even more advantage of that moment. Prior to Sunday, he was best known for the Q-School moment when he had a literally bounce out of the hole. Now, he is known as a Major Champion on the Champions Tour and he has some security with a one-year exemption.

He loves the underdog story that Joe Daley represents but the story of the week was undoubtedly Tiger Woods earning his 74th career PGA TOUR win in the AT&T National. Woods moves the needle like no one else in the history of the game and when he wins, more people notice and it benefits everyone involved in the game of golf. He spoke with Olin Browne in Pittsburgh last weekend and Browne said that he is not at all surprised to see Tiger performing like this. Browne, like Tiger, plays out of Medalist Golf Club in Hobe Sound, Florida so he has had a front row seat watching Tiger practice and prepare for tournaments as well as work on his swing.
