- Toms Taking Time
David Toms withdrew from the Deustche Bank Championship which will end his chase for the TOUR Championship. Toms entered the week 89th in the FedExCup Points Standings. No reason was given for his withdrawal.
- Goosen Out
Retief Goosen is out indefinitely after undergoing back surgery last week. He says the operation went well but he does not have a timetable for his return. Goosen tied for 48th in his last start in the PGA Championship.
- Paddy's Response
Padraig Harrington told the Irish Golf Desk: "The dogs in the street knew I wasn't getting a pick so it wasn't a hard phone call" in response to his conversation with European Ryder Cup Captain Jose Maria Olazabal. Harrington will miss the Ryder Cup after 6 straight appearances.
- Bradley's Back
Keegan Bradley returned to his home course in Woodstock to host a charity tournament to raise money for the Vermont Disaster Relief Fund. The money will be used to help the area recover from damage incurred during Tropical Storm Irene last summer.
