Golf Channel is bolstering its on-air talent lineup in 2014 with the addition of Hall-of-Famer Juli Inkster, seven-year LPGA veteran Paige Mackenzie and 2004 Women’s British Open champion Karen Stupples to its broadcast team.
“We’re excited about the addition of Juli, Paige and Karen to the Golf Channel family, as each is a proven competitor on tour,” said Molly Solomon, Golf Channel executive producer. “Their insight and knowledge from more than 50 years of combined professional playing experience will enhance our tournament and news coverage, taking viewers more inside the ropes and closer to the current athletes. Adding a Hall of Famer and a major champion to Golf Channel’s tournament coverage is a terrific boost.”
Inkster, who has 31 LPGA victories, including seven major championships, will work as a course reporter for five LPGA events in 2014, beginning with the Mobile Bay LPGA Classic in May. Inkster also will continue to play on tour.
Mackenzie, who has competed on the LPGA since 2007, will co-host “Morning Drive” and offer commentary on “Golf Central” while continuing to play a full LPGA schedule. She also will report from select events and conduct in-depth interviews with players that will air within Golf Channel news and tournament programming, beginning this week with the CME Group Titleholders.
Stupples is making the transition from the course to television in 2014. As a Golf Channel analyst, Stupples will work several LPGA events as a course reporter and booth analyst. She also will be a studio analyst for the network’s news programming.
