At least Woods can laugh

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Tiger Woods might not have looked comfortable with that dead pull left with a 3-wood on his first drive today at The Players Championship, but there is no doubt he is comfortable with his playing partners.

Woods appeared to laugh at Ian Poulter's ballmark as Woods putted out at the first green. Woods made a comment to Hunter Mahan and they both chuckled. Walking down the second fairway, Poulter handed the ballmark to Woods to inspect and Woods had another laugh before Poulter put it back in his pocket.

Woods hit a nice draw off the pine needles and around a tree at the first hole to hit the green in regulation, then two putted for par. He hit a solid stinger into the second fairway with a 3-wood, but he blew a chance for birdie when his 5-footer rimmed out. The fans here are showering him with support so far.
