SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – The short missed putts bouncing around his memory are mounting this season for Tiger Woods.
Preparing to take some momentum to the back nine Sunday at the PGA Championship, Woods scooted a 4-foot putt right of the hole and made bogey. He made the turn in 1-under for the day instead of 2-under.
Short misses with the putter can create more scar tissue than big misses with a driver, but the good news is that it was the first three-putt he’s been credited with in this week's PGA Championship. He had six one putts on the front nine Sunday and needed just 13 putts on that side.
Woods arrived at the PGA Championship ranking 84th in putting average.
