NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa. – Tiger Woods’ 61-footer for birdie at the fifth on Thursday moved him under par for the AT&T National and under par for just the third time in his last 77 holes.
At the U.S. Open, Woods was under par for just one hole, the 54th, after finishing his Saturday round with three consecutive birdies, and he was even par after a birdie-bogey start in Philly.
As for that 61 footer it was also historic. It was the longest putt Woods has made this year by more than 40 feet and just the fifth he has rolled in since 2003 from 60 feet or more.
