AUGUSTA, Ga. – Phil Mickelson watched Tiger Woods’ 33-minute press Q&A yesterday with as much interest as anyone. Lefty’s thoughts? “He did a great job.”
As for Woods’ apology to his fellow players for causing a distraction with the revelations of his serial infidelity, Mickelson said he appreciated it but it was not needed.
“He doesn’t owe me an apology,” Mickelson said. “In the last 12 years there hasn’t been an individual who has capitalized more on what he brings to the game than me.”
This year’s Masters marks a historic milestone for Mickelson and Woods. For the first time since 1992 golf’s dynamic duo arrive at Augusta National without having at least one victory between the two of them.
