CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Tiger Woods' first PGA Tour event of the year got off to a better start than his first major of 2010.
The world No. 1 split the fairway at Quail Hollow's 10th hole just before 8 a.m. on Thursday.
Earlier this month at Augusta National Woods' opening effort ended up in the pine trees left of the first fairway.
Things got better for Woods on Thursday, he chipped his third shot to 2 feet for birdie.
