Finishing his round with back-to-back birdies helped Tiger Woods’ disposition on Saturday at The Barclays, but even so the world No. 1 was in particularly high spirits considering he’d just signed for an over-par 72.
Despite a 3 under total that was nine strokes off the lead at the time, Woods was surprisingly upbeat if not about his title chances than his ongoing swing changes.
“I'm very excited about what I'm doing, how I'm hitting the golf ball. The shots that I'm hitting, the crispness coming off and how many shots I hit the last three rounds pin high, exactly pin high,” he said. “That's something I haven't done all year.”
