Woods makes cut feels better about game

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – All things considered, Tiger Woods was in a better mood when he walked off TPC Sawgrass on Friday than he was when he bolted property a week ago at Quail Hollow.

'I get a pension point, how about that?' Woods smiled after finishing at 3 under par to earn a spot on the weekend at The Players Championship.

Although Woods said he didn't hit the ball as well as he did on Thursday he did seem pleased with his progress after last week's missed cut.

Woods shot a second-round 71 and is currently tied for 39th at 3 under, nine shots behind current front runner Lee Westwood.

As for the wayward swing that sent his tee shot on the 14th hole into a water hazard on the 12th hole Woods said he tried to stop his swing but couldn't.

'I was in a bad position and tried to stop but I physically couldn't,' Woods said.
