Woods out at The Players


PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Tiger Woods withdrew from The Players Championship on Sunday.

Woods, 2 over for the day through six holes, had played his second shot short of the seventh green when he walked over to shake hands with playing partner Jason Bohn, then he immediately informed officials he was out. According to PGA Tour officials he withdrew with a neck injury.

The injury has been lingering since the Masters he told Tour officials. Woods said the ailment was on the right side of his neck and forced him out of Sunday's final round 6 1/2 holes into his day.

Moments after the announcement, Woods emerged from the TPC clubhouse and made the walk to the Tour fitness trailer to undergo treatment.
