DUBLIN, Ohio – Tiger Woods birdied the turn at Muirfield Village to get back to where he started the day at even par through ten holes. In retrospect, however, as omens go Woods’ first- and second-round playing companions were not the best.
The world No. 1 is with Steve Stricker and Jason Bohn, the last guy to be paired with Woods on Tour before he withdrew with a neck ailment through six holes on Sunday at The Players Championship.
We also spotted Sean Foley at the turn watching Woods tee off on the 10th hole. The swing coach was among a small group of teachers rumored to be on Woods’ short list to replace Hank Haney when the two split last month.
Foley said no one from the Woods camp has approached him about the job, but noted that he has an extensive video library of Woods’ swing that stretches all the way back to his junior golf days.
