Next week's Kraft Nabisco Championship kickstarts five months of major championships for the golfing world's best-known tours. Before that, however, the LPGA's best will battle for a title that was captured last year by a Hall of Famer.
Juli Inkster ended a three-year win drought by shooting a 67 in the final round to beat Sarah Lee by two shots, claiming her first victory since she won twice in 2003.
Inkster's victory ended a two-year run for Annika Sorenstam, who claimed back-to-back Safeway International titles in 2004-05. Sorenstam also won in 2001, one year after her sister, Charlotta, picked up her only LPGA Tour win at the same event.
Annika will be making her second start of the season after finishing second to Meaghan Francella in a Monday playoff at the MasterCard Classic.
At next week's Kraft Nabisco Championship, Karrie Webb will defend the title she won after what was truly one of golf's most exciting Sundays last year. Webb holed out from the fairway for eagle at the 72nd hole, then defeated eventual Player of the Year Lorena Ochoa in a playoff.
This week's tournament will be covered on all four days by GOLF CHANNEL, beginning at 6:30 p.m. (ET) Thursday-Saturday and at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.
