Atsedes Wins Lawrence Futures Golf Classic


Futures TourLAWRENCE, Kan. -- Former LPGA Tour player Lori Atsedes posted a 3-under 69 on Sunday to win the Lawrence Futures Golf Classic. She finished at 3-under-par 213 and won by a single stroke at EagleBend Golf Course.
Virada Nirapathpongporn, the 2003 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship, carded a 2-under 70 and tied for second place with Christine Boucher (72) and last week's IOS Futures Golf Classic Kyeong Bae (75). The trio came in at 2- under-par 214.
Atsedes, who played the LPGA Tour from 1998-2001 and again in 2003, collected her sixth win on the Futures Tour. Her last win on this circuit came at the Gulf Telephone Futures Classic in 1998.
Janell Howland (71) and Ji Min Jeong (73) tied for fifth at 1-under-par 215.
Kelly Cap fired the lowest round of the day on Sunday with a 4-under 68. She shared seventh place with Li-Ying Ye, who shot a 1-over 73 in the final round, at even-par 216.
