Azinger Out of the British Open

East Lothian, Scotland -- Paul Azinger, the British Open runner-up in 1987, withdrew from this year's event at Muirfield on Monday.
Azinger, 42, pulled out due to an minor injury that would make playing this week impossible.
At Muirfield in '87, Azinger bogeyed the final two holes to lose the British Open by one stroke to Nick Faldo. Azinger missed last year's Open at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club.
The 2002 British Open tees off Thursday at Muirfield.
