Chudy Lee in Womens Publinx Final

USGAKANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Tiffany Chudy knocked out defending champion Ya-Ni Tseng, 4 and 2, Friday to advance to the finals of the 2005 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship.
Chudy, who had out-lasted Amie Cochran 1-up in 19 holes in the quarterfinals earlier Friday, will face Eun Jung Lee in Saturday's 36-hole title match. The duo will begin the first 18 at 9:00 a.m. ET with the second 18 holes to commence at 1:30 p.m.
Lee rolled to a 5-and-4 win over Jane Rah in the semifinals after downing Elizabeth Dotson, 1-up, in the quarterfinals at Swope Memorial Golf Course.
Tseng won the first hole against Chudy with a birdie. However, Chudy would control the match the rest of the way. The match was squared at the third when Tseng bogeyed the par-3.
Chudy birdied the next to move 1-up and the match stayed that way until Tseng stumbled to a bogey at the eighth. Tseng also bogeyed the 11th and Chudy birdied the next to grab a 4-up lead.
Tseng tried to fight back as she birdied the par-3 13th, but Chudy was too tough. They each parred the next two holes, before Chudy closed out the match with a birdie on the 16th.
'It's actually gone very well,' Chudy said. 'It was very steady golf, with very good putting. It's going well.'
In the other semifinal, Lee was in control throughout. She won the second and third thanks to a pair of bogeys by Rah. Rah came back with a birdie on the fifth, but things turned in Lee's favor quickly.
The 17-year-old Lee ran off four consecutive birdies from the par-3 sixth to move 5-up through nine holes.
Rah, 14, tried to claw back into it with as she won the 13th, but her rally was short lived. She bogeyed the next to give Lee the 5-and-4 win.
'I feel very good,' Lee said through an interpreter. 'I am happy. I hope I win Saturday. I am confident I can do it.'
The champion receives a 10-year exemption into the Women's Amateur Public Links and exemptions into the next two U.S. Women's Amateurs.
