Clarke Returning to Action in Madrid

European TourAs will be the case at the World Match Play Championships, several players at the Open de Madrid will be looking to fine tune their games for the upcoming Ryder Cup.
European players Darren Clarke, Padraig Harrington and Jose Maria Olazabal have combined to win 33 1/2 points in 13 Ryder Cups, and all three will be in the field at La Moraleja II.
Clarke will be competing for the first time since the death of his wife, Heather, from cancer on August 13.
Among those Spaniards joining Olazabal in the field will be reigning European Tour Golfer of the Month Alejandro Canizares, Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano and Miguel Angel Jimenez.
Last year, this event was played in October and France's Raphael Jacquelin won his first European Tour title by three shots with lift, clean and place rules in effect.
Next week the European side will attempt to defend the Ryder Cup against a team of Americans at the K Club.
