Crane Fasth Jump In World Rankings


Niclas Fasth defeated Angel Cabrera in a playoff Sunday and that helped him jump 60 spots in the latest Official World Golf Rankings. Fasth comes in tied for 61st in the world this week.
Tiger Woods returns to action this week after retaining the top spot in the rankings. He will be joined in the Buick Open field by world No. 2 Vijay Singh. The remainder of the top-five - Ernie Els, Phil Mickelson and Retief Goosen - will take the week off after staying in the same places as last week.
Sergio Garcia hung on to the sixth spot and was followed by Adam Scott, Padraig Harrington, Jim Furyk and Kenny Perry to close out the top-10.
Masters runner-up Chris DiMarco remained in the 11th spot and was followed once again by David Toms. Cabrera closed in on Toms, but remained 13th with Luke Donald and Darren Clarke after him.
Davis Love III maintained the 16th position with former Masters winner Fred Couples at 17th, while Tim Clark, Stewart Cink and Justin Leonard held on to their spots from last week to close out the top-20.
Ben Crane improved to 63rd in the world after his win at the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee.
