Daly Moves Up to 23rd Tiger Distances Himself

Tiger Woods won the WGC-American Express Championship on Sunday when John Daly missed a short par putt on the second playoff hole.
But Daly moved up 14 spots in this week's Official World Golf Rankings. The two-time major winner climbed from 37th to No. 23 this week.
Woods remained in first, followed by Vijay Singh, Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els and Retief Goosen. Sergio Garcia, who tied for third place at Harding Park, Adam Scott and Chris DiMarco stayed in their spots from last week.
Jim Furyk and David Toms each moved up two spots to ninth and 10th, respectively. Angel Cabrera and Kenny Perry dipped two places to accommodate the moves by Furyk and Toms.
Padraig Harrington held on to No. 13, while Colin Montgomerie, who won the dunhill links championship two weeks ago and tied for third at the AmEx, rose two to 14th. Reigning U.S. Open champion Michael Campbell went down one to round out the top-15.
Luke Donald also fell one spot to 16th, and Davis Love III shot up two to 17th. Darren Clarke and Tim Clark both dropped a place as Love moved up. David Howell ascended one spot to 20th, while Fred Couples fell out of the top-20.
