Daly Sidelined with Broken Hand

LAS VEGAS -- PGA Tour player John Daly was forced to withdraw from a tournament because of a fractured right hand he suffered last weekend.
Daly sustained the injury at the Duff Challenge last Saturday, the PGA Tour said. He was scheduled to compete Sunday in the inaugural Bard Capital Challenge, an officially-sanctioned event on the PGA Tour Challenge Season which groups amateurs with professionals for the final round.
'Unfortunately, due to an injury, I am forced to withdraw from this year's inaugural Bard Capital Challenge,' Daly said in a statement. 'I wish Richard Bard and the entire tournament staff the best of luck with this year's event and I look forward to participating in next year's tournament.'
Daly finished 42nd on the 2005 PGA Tour money list with more than $1.75 million in earnings. A five-time winner on tour, his last victory came at the 2004 Buick Invitational.
A replacement for Daly has not been named.
