Defending Champs Advance


Canadian Tour-LargePOITE-AU-PIC, Quebec -- Pete Bousquet and Jean-Louis Lamarre, the 2002 champions, advanced at the Casino de Charlevoix Cup in Thursday's semifinal action.
The duo defeated Gregg Cuthill and Jason Morin, 2-and-1, in one of Thursday's semifinal matches.
In the Casino de Charlevoix Cup, there are 16 teams from the Canadian PGA Tour and 16 teams from the Quebec PGA. The winners of each bracket will meet in Saturday's final.
The defending champions will face Michel Boyer and Stephane L'Ecuyer in the final match of the Quebec bracket. Boyer and L'Ecuyer advanced after a 5-and-4 drubbing of Michel Lapointe and Jean Marc Tourangeau.
On the Canadian PGA Tour side, Brennan Webb and Chris Wisler handled Nathan Green and Kevin Jones, 2-and-1. Webb and Wisler will battle Bryn Parry and Alex Rocha in the final match after Parry and Rocha dispatched Doug McGuigan and Alan McLean, 2-and-1.
Friday's action will feature each bracket's final and on Saturday the opposing sides will face off to determine the winner of the Casino de Charlevoix Cup.
