Franklin Templeton Shootout Raises Purse


04 Franklin Templeton ShootoutThe total prize money for the Franklin Templeton Shootout has increased to $2.6 million, thanks to a $100,000 upgrade.
With the recent purse rise, the field of 24 competitors this year will have a shot for the largest prize in the event's 17-year history. The winning team will share a tournament-record $630,000.
'Continued support from Southwest Florida coupled with corporate partners like Franklin Templeton has allowed us to again raise the bar,' tournament founder and host Greg Norman said in a release. 'With the increased purse we are sure to again attract some of the best golfers in the world and raise significant funds for charity.'
For the fifth consecutive year, the Shootout will be played at the Tiburon Golf Club on the grounds of The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples. The Golf Club was designed by Norman.
'Players look forward to this event each year,' Tournament Director Taylor Ives said in a release. 'With the beautiful surroundings and casual atmosphere, more and more Tour professionals want to be part of this experience.'
This is the eighth consecutive year the purse has increased.
