Garcia has played here each of the last three years and has finished first, tied for second and second. The Spaniard will headline a field this week that also includes defending champion Niclas Fasth.
Fasth opened with a 4-under 66 last year and closed with a 68 to beat Garcia by three shots.
The battle for tour cards, as well as entry into next year's U.S. Open and British Open, will be happening at Pula Golf Club. Players in the top 15 on the Order of Merit get into the U.S. Open, while the top 20 gain entry in the British Open.
Fasth is No. 5 in the Order of Merit race right now and is the top-ranked player from that list in the field this week.
GOLF CHANNEL will have coverage of all four rounds. Next week's Volvo Masters closes out the 2007 season for the European Tour. Jeev Milkha Singh won the title by one stroke over three players last year.
