Howell Faxon Vault Up World Rankings

A victory at the BMW International Open over the weekend has vaulted England's David Howell into a career-high position in the Official World Golf Rankings.
Howell improved eight places to No. 22 with his second career victory and first in six years. He shot 23-under-par in Munich for a one-stroke victory over John Daly and Brett Rumford.
The weekend's other big winner was Brad Faxon at the Buick Championship. Faxon beat Tjaart van der Walt in a playoff for his eighth title and moved up 34 places to 52nd.
Little changed in the top-20 over the weekend, especially in the top-10, where Kenny Perry was the only player in action.
Tiger Woods retained his top spot, followed by Vijay Singh, Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els, Retief Goosen and Sergio Garcia, who held onto places 2-6 while idle last week.
Adam Scott and Chris DiMarco flip-flopped spots seven and eight, with Scott moving up, while Jim Furyk moved up three places into 9th. Perry remained 10th, followed by Padraig Harrington, David Toms, Angel Cabrera, Luke Donald and Davis Love III.
Fred Couples, Tim Clark, Darren Clarke, Michael Campbell and Thomas Bjorn all held on their positions to round out the top-20.
