Hurst Breaks into Top-10 in Womens Rankings


Pat Hurst won the Safeway Classic on Sunday and in the process, moved into the top 10 of this week's Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings. Hurst climbed six places to No. 9 this week.
Annika Sorenstam, Lorena Ochoa, Karrie Webb, Cristie Kerr, Paula Creamer, Juli Inkster, Michelle Wie and Jeong Jang remained in their spots from the previous week.
Hurst, who won by a stroke over Jang and Kim Saiki at Columbia Edgewater Country Club, came in ninth, followed by Yuri Fudoh, who slipped one to No. 10.
Mi Hyun Kim stayed pat at 11, while LPGA Champion Se Ri Pak moved up one place to 12th. Ai Miyazato, Hee-Won Han and Shiho Ohyama all fell to make room for Hurst.
Seon-Hwa Lee, Natalie Gulbis, Sakura Yokomine and Sophie Gustafson held their spots from last week. Meena Lee, who tied for seventh at the Safeway Classic, jumped two to round out the top 20.
Reigning Women's British Open champion Sherri Steinhauer fell out of the top 20.
