Immelman Up in Rankings

World RankingsTrevor Immelman successfully defended his title at the South African Airways Open Sunday and in the process moved up 19 places in this week's Official World Golf Rankings. Immelman is up to 37th in the world and is currently the third-highest-ranked South African in golf behind Ernie Els and Retief Goosen.
 
Els also made it two in a row this week. He won the Sony Open in Hawaii for the second straight year but remained third behind Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh.
 
Davis Love III, reigning U.S. Open champion Jim Furyk, Masters winner Mike Weir and Goosen stayed in their spots from last week, with Love taking fourth and Goosen seventh.
 
David Toms, rehabbing from a wrist injury, and Kenny Perry switched places from last week. Toms moved up to eighth, while Perry fell one to ninth. Ireland's Padraig Harrington once again rounded out the top 10.
 
Stuart Appleby, last week's Mercedes Championships winner, Darren Clarke, Nick Price, Chad Campbell, Robert Allenby, Phil Mickelson and Fredrik Jacobson all stayed pat from 11-17.
 
Charles Howell III jumped up two spots to No. 18, while Justin Leonard and Brad Faxon each fell one to complete the top-20.
