Ireland Welcomes Back Harrington

European TourLIMERICK, Ireland -- Padraig Harrington held on to beat Bradley Dredge in a playoff at last year's Irish Open, becoming the first Irishman in 25 years to win the European Tour's biggest event on the Emerald Isle.
'I've always said that after the four majors this is the next event I've wanted to win,' Harrington said -- and then he went on to win his first major at the British Open.
Harrington will be back this year to defend his title in a field that includes four Irishman who have already won on the European Tour this season: Graeme McDowell, Damien McGrane, Darren Clarke and Peter Lawrie.
Three-time champion Colin Montgomerie will also be in the field, along with fellow previous winners Stephen Dodd, Patrick Sjoland and David Carter.
The GOLF CHANNEL will have three hours of coverage for all four rounds.
Next week is the BMW PGA Championship, where Anders Hansen won last year.
