Jeong Wins Five Other Gain Cards

Duramed Futures TourALBANY, N.Y. -- Ji Min Jeong only shot a 1-over 72 on Sunday, but it was enough to hold on and win the ILOVENY Championship, the season-ending event on the Duramed Futures Tour. She finished 7-under-par 206 and won by a single stroke at Capital Hills at Albany.
Charlotte Mayorkas carded a 2-under 69 and finished in second place one shot back. In-Bee Park (68) and Meaghan Francella (73) tied for third at 5-under-par 208.
The win was Jeong's second in 2006. She captured the Lima Memorial Hospital Futures Classic in June, but even with two wins, Jeong was not able to crack the top five on the money list.
Since this was the final event on the 2006 schedule, the top 5 players on the Duramed Futures Tour money list earn full membership to the LPGA Tour for next season.
Song-Hee Kim, a five-time winner on tour in 2006, led the money list, followed by Mayorkas, Park, Kristy McPherson and Francella. Francella was eighth at the start of the week and her play in Albany got her the spot.
Angela Park was fifth, but fell down to eighth after this championship.
