Jimenez Climbs to 12th in World Ranking


Miguel Angel Jimenez claimed his fifth title in the calendar year at the Hong Kong Open and in doing so climbed two spots to 12th in this week's Official World Golf Rankings.
The top-nine remained the same from one week ago. Vijay Singh, who was named PGA Tour Player of the Year on Monday, maintained the top spot and was followed by Tiger Woods, Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, who won the Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa, Phil Mickelson, Padraig Harrington, Davis Love III, Mike Weir and Sergio Garcia.
Stewart Cink and Adam Scott exchanged positions from last week with Cink taking 10th and Scott sliding one spot to 11th.
Jimenez moved to 12th and was followed by Stuart Appleby. Darren Clarke slipped two notches to 14th. Chris DiMarco held on to the 15th position from one week ago.
British Open champion Todd Hamilton climbed one to 16, while former U.S. Open champion Jim Furyk slipped one slot to 17. The remainder of the top-20 remained the same with Kenny Perry 18th, Chad Campbell 19th and Stephen Ames 20th.
Peter Lonard, who won for the second straight week in Australia, jumped up seven more spaces to No. 38 in the world.
