McCarron Henninger Capture Fred Meyer Challenge

ALOHA, OR - Scott McCarron and Brian Henninger combined for a 10-under-par 62 Tuesday and captured the two-day Fred Meyer Challenge by two strokes over the duo of Stewart Cink and PGA champion David Toms.
 
McCarron and Henninger recorded 10 birdies and no bogeys in the second round and finished the best-ball event at 22-under 122. The two players earned the top prize of $180,000.
 
Three teams finished tied for third, four shots back. Senior Tour members Bob Gilder and Tom Wargo, Jack Nicklaus and son Gary, and Charles Howell III and Matt Kuchar all concluded the two rounds at 18-under 126.
 
Craig Stadler and Steve Elkington ended in a tie for sixth with the teams of Casey Martin and Notah Begay III and David Duval and Dudley Hart. Duval was scheduled to play in this event with his father Bob until the elder Duval had knee surgery a few weeks ago.
 
Tom Lehman and Chris DiMarco came in ninth and were followed by the duo of John Cook and Fred Couples, tournament host Peter Jacobsen and his partner Arnold Palmer and defending champions Billy Andrade and Brad Faxon.
 
The two-day tournament was played at The Reserve Vineyards & Golf Club.
