McCord paired with four amateurs to post a score of 9-under-par 131, as the event used the best two balls per team to accumulate a total score. McCords quintet won on a match of cards with Andy Beans team, which also posted a total of 131.
The field consisted of 16 members of the Champions Tour and PGA Tour player Fred Funk, who will join the Champions Tour in 2006.
The event was held at the Atlantic City Country Club, a course chosen because it also hosted the first official Champions Tour in June 1980.
The 17 professionals donated all of their winnings from the $125,000 purse to five Atlantic City-area charities. The purse equaled that of the 1980 event.
Miller Barbers team took third behind McCord and Bean at 7-under-par 133. Barbers squad was followed by D.A. Weibrings group at 134. Jim Colbert, Bruce Fleisher, Don January and Jim Thorpe each combined with their teams to post scores of 5-under-par 135.
January won the tournament back in 1980, when it was known as the Atlantic City Senior International.
