Canadian Tour-LargeGUADALAJARA, Mexico -- Rob McMillan fired a 3-under 69 Friday to climb into the lead after two rounds of the Michelin Guadalajara Classic. He stands at 7-under-par 137, one stroke clear of Andy Matthews and Tele Wightman.

Anders Hultman, the 2003 TravelTex.com Tour Classic winner, carded a 4-under 68. He shares fourth place with Rob Johnson, Rob Oppenheim, Alex Quiroz, Michael Sims, Matt Weibring and Stephen Woodard at 5-under-par 139.

McMillan got his round going on the 10th tee at The Atlas Golf & Country Club. He ran off eight straight pars to open his round before back-to-back birdies from the 18th.

'I started horrible,' said McMillan. 'Then I played very well the last 10 holes. Very good. It will feel better to be on top on Sunday. There are still two more rounds to go.'

McMillan picked up another birdie on his way to the house to grab first place. He was disappointed that he left himself with lengthy putts, but is fine with the lead.

'I will try to do the same I've done so far,' McMillan said. 'Hit the ball straight and try to reach the greens regularly. Today I had some bad shots at the start and had long putts.'

Mario Tiziani, who grabbed the lead after the opening round with a 7-under 65, struggled badly on Friday. He stumbled to an 8-over 80, which dropped him to 1-over-par 145.

The cut line fell at 2-over-par 146 with 72 players advancing to the weekend. Among those not sticking around for the final two rounds are Jason Allred (147), Danny Mijovic (147) and Adam Short (148).
