Nationwide Tour Back in Action

04 Chitimacha Louisiana OpenAfter a three-week layoff, the Nationwide Tour returns to action with the 14th edition of the Louisiana Open, as the PGA's developmental players see action for the first time in the United States.
The Tour opened in Panama and followed with events in New Zealand and Australia.
Last year, Jimmy Walker fired a 7-under 65 to come from eight shots back on Sunday and win the tournament. Walker finished the event at 16-under-par 272 for his second victory of the season on the Nationwide Tour.
When Paul Stankowski won this event in 1996, he became the first player to win a Nationwide Tour and PGA Tour event in the same year when he accomplished the feat in consecutive weeks, winning the Louisiana Open and then the BellSouth Classic.
Le Triomphe Golf & Country Club has hosted this event since its existence in 1992. Craig Perks, who won The Players Championship in 2002, was an assistant professional at this golf course from 1991-93.
The only playoff in event history came in 2002, when Steven Alker defeated Mike Heinen.
After another three-week break, the NationwideTour returns to action April 21-24 with the Virginia Beach Open, where James Driscoll titles in 2004.
