Nationwide Tour Makes 2007 US Debut

2007 Chitimacha Lousiana OpenBROUSSARD, La.-- For the first time this year, the Nationwide Tour will make a stop in the United States for the Chitimacha Louisiana Open.
The tour's fourth event -- the first three were played in Panama, Australia and New Zealand -- will take place, as usual on the Nationwide Tour, without its defending champion.
Last year, Johnson Wagner birdied the 72nd hole and closed with a four-under 67 to win his first Nationwide Tour title by one shot over Chad Collins. Wagner, a two-time winner last year, has missed just two cuts in nine starts this year on the PGA Tour.
The first three champions this season have been Miguel Carballo (Movistar Panama Championship); Scott Sterling (Jacob's Creek Open Championship); and Nicholas Thompson (HSBC New Zealand PGA Championship). All three are in the field this week.
Next week is the Livermore Valley Wine Championship, a new event last year that was won by Tripp Isenhour.
