New Rivalry Inaugural Canada vs USA Match

The best golfers from the Canadian Tour are set to meet soon in a battle for national bragging rights.
The top 11 Americans and top 11 Canadian-born players from the Canadian Tour will compete in the inaugural USA vs. Canada Team Match from December 13-16 in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Formatted similar to the Ryder Cup, organizers have scheduled four-ball, foursomes and singles matches at Cinnamon Hill. It will all be broadcast on The Golf Channel.
'This event gives Canadian Tour players the unique opportunity to be part of a team representing their country,' said tour commissioner Richard Janes. 'Our best players will be able to showcase their skills not only in a match-play format but before a worldwide audience.'
Both teams will feature eight starters and three alternates. The U.S. contingent will be led by Canadian Tour Player of the Year Stephen Gangluff, while the Canadian side features top players Wes Heffernan, Darren Griff and Chris Baryla.
The Canadian Tour's 2007 schedule does not officially begin until April.
