Last year, Jin Joo Hong closed with a 2-under 70 on Sunday to win the championship by three strokes, becoming the third Korean LPGA Tour member to win the title in the first five years of the event.
Hong was making her first career start on the LPGA Tour when she won last year. She earned exempt status and has taken advantage of it, playing 19 times this season with middling results. She will be in her native South Korea to defend her title.
Lorena Ochoa, a winner in four of her last six starts, including last week over an elite field at the Samsung World Championship, will lead the field.
There is no television coverage of the event. Next week is the Honda LPGA Thailand, which was won by Hee-Won Han last year.
