Ogilvy barrels into Top-10 in world rankings


Geoff Ogilvy won the season-opening Mercedes-Benz Championship on Sunday and moved up five places to No. 6 in the world rankings.
Tiger Woods remained No. 1 and was followed again by Sergio Garcia in the second spot. Padraig Harrington inched up one place to third, dropping Phil Mickelson to fourth, while Vijay Singh held onto the fifth spot.
Ogilvy's move to No. 6 knocked Robert Karlsson and Camilo Villegas down one slot apiece to seventh and eighth. Anthony Kim tied for second place behind Ogilvy and advanced three places to ninth, kicking Ernie Els to 10th and Lee Westwood to 11th.
Henrik Stenson was down four spots to 12th, while Jim Furyk and Kenny Perry stood pat at 13th and 14th. Steve Stricker was up two places to 15th, Stewart Cink remained 16th, K.J. Choi was up one place to 17th, Adam Scott dropped three slots to 18th and Justin Rose and Trevor Immelman rounded out the top 20 again.
